IIGM welcomes expressions of interest from candidates who obtained the Seal of Excellence under the MSCA European Postdoctoral Fellowships programme and wish to implement their project at IIGM, even if IIGM was not indicated as the Host Institution in the original application. Eligible proposals should be aligned with IIGM’s scientific areas, including human genomics and epigenomics, systems biology, immunology, bioinformatics, computational biology, and translational biomedical research, with particular relevance to precision medicine and cancer research.

To apply, interested candidates should send by 17 April 2026 the following materials:

  • a curriculum vitae, including current position, publications, previous funding, and relevant international experience;
  • a copy of the proposal submitted to the European Commission under the MSCA European Postdoctoral Fellowships call (Part A and Part B);
  • a copy of the Evaluation Summary Report (ESR) received from the European Commission, indicating the final score obtained;
  • a copy of the Seal of Excellence certificate issued by the European Commission;
  • a motivation letter explaining the candidate’s interest in carrying out the project at IIGM;
  • a brief statement of scientific fit describing how the proposed research aligns with IIGM’s activities and identifying the research unit, laboratory, or scientific area in which the candidate would ideally be hosted;
  • an updated publication list;
  • the names and contact details of two referees;
  • an indication of the candidate’s availability and possible project start date.

All materials should be sent to: saverio.minucci@iigm.it (subject: SEAL OF EXCELLENCE)

Applications will be evaluated by IIGM in order to identify the most promising candidates to be considered for submission under the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation’s call. Online interviews may be scheduled to perform the selection process.

In case of award, successful candidates will carry out their research project at IIGM for the same duration as foreseen in the original MSCA application and will receive a salary equivalent to the amount of the MSCA fellowship provided by the European Commission. Where necessary – for example, where the Host Institution indicated in the original application was based in a country other than Italy – the total award amount will be recalculated using the coefficient applicable to Italy. The activation of the family allowance component, where relevant, will be assessed at the time of the award based on the fellow’s individual circumstances.
