We are pleased to welcome Dr. Davide Pradella to IIGM – Italian Institute for Genomic Medicine.
At IIGM, Dr. Pradella will join the Cancer Genome Dynamics unit, which focuses on developing innovative tools to study tumor genome evolution and the catastrophic processes that radically alter the cancer genome during disease progression.
Specifically, he will contribute to the unit’s core research lines:
- Next-generation models: faithfully recapitulating cancer initiation and progression;
- Chromothripsis: studying chromosome fragmentation in pediatric and adult tumors;
- ecDNA-positive vulnerabilities: identifying key factors and dynamics of extrachromosomal DNA.
The goal: generating preclinical tumor models that mirror the genomic complexity observed in patients, providing a solid rational basis to uncover new vulnerabilities and design more effective therapeutic strategies against drug resistance.
His arrival opens new avenues for innovation within IIGM’s cancer genomics research.
